2D Platformer Prototype

This 2D Platformer is a gameplay prototype developed over a small timeline to experiment with level scaling mechanics and deepen my understanding of "game feel." The project was built specifically to analyze the micro-interactions that make basic movement and jumping feel inherently satisfying to control.

The core gameplay centres around a highly responsive character controller utilizing subtle game-juice techniques like coyote time, variable jump heights, and input buffering to ensure tight, forgiving platforming mechanics. This setup challenged me to carefully manage gravity scales, custom velocity curves, and precise collision detection while building a modular framework to evaluate how level pacing and platform geometry scale relative to player metrics.
